What a brilliant, exciting art competition, with so many wonderfully inspired budding artists. We firstly want to thank every child who entered for all their effort and creativity, it seems they really enjoyed the artmaking process. All the artworks are amazing, and really impressed the ArtBuds artists, their original source of inspiration. For taking the time to participate all kids will receive their very own Budding Artist Award!
First prize winners will receive an archival quality giclee print of their work which, under the right conditions, can last 100+ years. They also get to 'meet' the ArtBuds artist of their inspiration, and their work will be displayed on the ArtBuds website, for all to see!
We have decided to include a runners-up prize as it was just so difficult to decide on the individual winning entries. This will include an opportunity for kids to 'meet' the artist who inspired them, and ask them some burning questions.
Winner, Mini Bud category (2-4 years): Congratualtions to Aimee, from Queensland, Australia for her gorgeous work inspired by Australian artist, Lilly Blue's 'Embracing all that is precious'.
Joint winners, Little Bud category (5-7 years):
Tejjas, from India, for his whimsical and imaginative work titled 'Imagination' inspired by L.A. based artist, Nathan Spoor's, 'Full Moon: Umbrellas'.
And congratulations to Bonnie, from Queensland, Australia for her bold and colourful entry inspired by Mexican artist, Foi Jimenez Jurado's 'Cats Genesis'.
Joint Runners-Up, Little Bud category (5-7 years):
Congratulations to Rory, from Melbourne, Australia, for his striking work inspired by American artist, Charlie Immer's 'Geode'.
And congratulations to Eli, from Queensland, Australia, for his wonderful entry inspired by French born/Canadian based artist Jean-Christian Knaff's 'Madam Noeu-Noeuil'.
Winner, Bigger Bud category (8-10 years): Congratualtions to Stephanie, from Melbourne, Australia, for her original entry 'Self Portrait', inspired by the works of Australian artist, Lilly Blue.

Winner of the Eckersley's art pack prize: Congratulations to Kidzville Early Learning Centre, from Marrickville, Sydney.
They win a big box of art materials from Eckersley's Art & Craft for their entry of 10 incredible paintings created by children 2-4 years old, and inspired by a range of ArtBuds artists, including Dan May, Bwana Spoons, and Brian Robertson. Budding Artists Competition 2013
All the kids had such a great time entering our Budding Artists competition we have decided to make this an annual ArtBuds event, with more prizes, categories and opportunities to enter. We will keep you posted about how to enter the Budding Artists Competition 2013 later in the year!
